Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Wednesday, 02/18/2015, Gaudium Press) The Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro promoted this past Sunday, February 15, in full season of carnival, the retreat “Revive”, bringing together more than 700 Catholic young people at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
The event, whose purpose was to experience the beginning of Lent in a climate of prayer and spirituality, continued until Tuesday, February 17, finishing with a Eucharistic celebration presided by the Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, Cardinal Orani João Tempesta.
The program included moments of prayer, adoration to the Blessed Sacrament, artistic performances, and celebration of Mass.
One of the sermons was on the happiness of those who are loved by God, followed by the Life in the Spirit Seminar.
At the Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Antonio Augusto Dias Duarte, the prelate related to the Sunday liturgy commenting on the Gospel readings related to the beginning of the liturgical time of Lent.
According to Bishop Antonio Augusto Dias Duarte, “people wear masks” to cover their real face, however, he recalled , “we want people to resume what they really are” and the reach this goal we need “unconditional love” (of Jesus) he said. (LMI)
