Belem – Para, Brazil (Monday, 02/23/2015, Gaudium Press) The Archdiocese of Belem do Para has already started the preparation for the XVII National Eucharistic Congress which will take place between the 15 and the 21 of August 2016, the year of the Fourth Centenary of the Evangelization of the Amazon and of the foundation of the City of Santa Maria de Belém.

In order to prepare for the Eucharistic Congress, the year 2015 will be called Eucharistic Year, being on January 12, 2015 and ending on January 12, 2016, having as its theme “The Church of Belem en route for the Eucharistic Congress.”
According to the organizers, the Congress wishes to be the meeting point of all people who profess the Catholic faith in the midst of the Holy Eucharist reality, and who wish to offer a public witness to their faith in the real presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ. (LMI)
