Turin – Italy (Wednesday, 03/11/2015, Gaudium Press) On April 19, this year, the Holy Shroud of Turin will be in display. This has not happened since 2010. The show, which will last until the 24th of June, will be a free event for all the faithful and pilgrims who desire to worship and experience this sacred relic. Even people who have some visual impairment will be able to “see” it.

A true three-dimensional representation of the Shroud was developed in an encrypted format so that the blind can “see” through their fingers “the man of the Shroud”. The replica was generated with automatic instruments and informative details that match exactly the two-dimensional image.

Our Holy Father Pope Francis is expected to visit Turin to pray before the Holy Shroud on a date to be announced. In an Easter 2013 address The Holy Father said, “This image, impressed upon the cloth, speaks to our heart.”

“This disfigured face resembles all those faces of men and women marred by a life which does not respect their dignity, by war and violence which afflict the weakest … And yet, at the same time, the face in the shroud conveys a great peace; this tortured body expresses a sovereign majesty.”

The Holy Father stated that “the Man of the Shroud invites us to contemplate Jesus of Nazareth and urged the faithful to contemplate the shroud with awe.”
