Cardinal Turkson participates in the VI International Symposium of Theology in Rio de Janeiro

    Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Thursday, 09-03-2015, Gaudium Press) In Rio de Janeiro, takes place the VI International Symposium of Theology, at the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio), under the title of “Promotion of the Culture of Peace in a world in conflict “

    The meeting which runs from September 1st to September 4, has among its participants the president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Cardinal Peter Turkson.

    Throughout the event, Cardinal Turkson talked on the theme of how building a culture of peace brings ecological responsibility.

    In addition, the conference welcomed Father Joao Vila-Cha, from the Gregorian University in Rome, and theologian Maria Luisa Varela Almond , of the Catholic University of Portugal.

    The purpose of this symposium is to promote quality in scientific research and production, in the biblical, theological, pastoral areas and their interfaces with religious sciences and other human sciences.

    Last Tuesday Cardinal Turkson presented his ideas concerning the theme of the meeting during a meeting with the clergy and religious, in the John Paul II building. (LMI)
