According to the statistics published by Agenzia Fides, Catholics have grown proportionally more than the World’s population.

The annual statistics published by @fidesorg show a 17.7 percent increase in the number of Catholics.

As of December 31, 2019, the number of Catholics in the World reached 1,344,403,000 people, registering an increase of 15,410,000, or a 1.15% more than the previous year.
Number of Catholics and the world population
On the other hand, as of December 31, 2019, the world population grew by 1,07%. At 7,577,777,000 people, humankind registered an increase of 81,383,000.

Breaking the growth of Catholics by continents, as per 2019, there were 8,302,000 new Catholics in Africa, 5,373,000 new Catholics in America, 1,909,000 new Catholics in Asia, 118,000 new Catholics in Oceania, and 292,000 fewer in Europe.
