The campaign is inspired by the phrase of Father Pio: “When a million children pray the Rosary, then the world will change.”
Newsroom (October 3, 2021 8:15 PM, Gaudium Press) The Pontifical Association Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) has launched the initiative “One million children pray the Rosary,” It will take place on October 18, 2021 and will unite children from 23 countries.
Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, president of the Foundation, explains that the goal is to ask children to pray for divine help, peace and unity in the world, namely in these difficult times.
The campaign will encourage children to pray “hand in hand with Mary and under the protection of St. Joseph.”
The Patron of the Church, “is a great example to us of how God can direct everything for the good, through our prayer, our faithfulness and our obedience to His Word,” expressed Cardinal Piacenza.
Schedule
On October 18, “at 9 a.m. (local time, if not possible at another time), children of all ages will pray for unity and peace in the world. In many regions of the globe, classes will be interrupted for half an hour. This year, the recitation of the Rosary will be dedicated to the children of Syria, innocent victims of an endless war.”
Cardinal Piacenza also established a relationship between Rosary, children and the Apparitions of the Virgin of Fatima: “In 2017 marked the centenary of the apparitions of the Queen of the Rosary of Fatima. There is nothing better we can do for world peace than taking the message from heaven seriously. Isn’t it significant that in Fatima, God chose children to reveal His most significant plan of peace for the contemporary times? The children understood the language of the Virgin and, above all, they believed her words. Should we not, therefore, put much more effort into teaching children, helping them to collaborate in this plan for peace, more current today than ever before?”
