Testifying before Congress, Thomas More Society Executive Vice President Peter Breen, denounced the weaponization of the Department of Justice by the Biden-Harris Administration.
Newsroom (26/02/2025 Gaudium Press) – Today, Thomas More Society Executive Vice President and Head of Litigation, Peter Breen, testified before Congress, at the House Judiciary Subcommittee about the weaponization of the Department of Justice by the Biden-Harris Administration.
In his testimony, Breen declared that “The Biden DOJ engaged in a systematic campaign to abuse the power of the federal government against pro-life advocates, while that same DOJ ignored hundreds of acts of vandalism and violence against pro-life churches, pregnancy help centers, and advocates.”
Breen’s statement included details of the persecution of two peaceful pro-life advocates, Paul Vaughn and Mark Houck, each of whom were arrested by heavily armed FBI agents in front of their wives and young children.

In the hearing, “Entering the Golden Age: Ending the Weaponization of the Justice Department,” Breen was invited to share more about the account of Houck, whose dramatic arrest at gunpoint illustrated the extreme overreach instituted by the Biden DOJ.
As Breen described how Houck was treated like a “domestic terrorist” he shared how in contrast, a severely vandalized pregnancy help center suffered horrible losses at the hands of actual domestic terrorists, who remained largely unpursued.
Breen’s testimony was requested by the subcommittee as part of a deep dive into how the Biden-Harris Administration weaponized the Department of Justice against American citizens through politically motivated prosecutions, and how the Trump-Vance Administration can address these issues and promote the rule of law.
