Vinhedo – São Paulo (12/08/2024 15:57, Gaudium Press) Last Friday Brazil was socked by the tragic plane crash of an aircraft belonging to Voepass Linhas Aéreas that took off from Cascavel, in the west of Paraná, and crashed in a condominium in Vinhedo, in the interior of São Paulo (SP).

Advice for her children: “Always be prepared for death”

The crash of the aircraft resulted in a total of 62 fatalities, including passengers and crew members. Among these victims was Denilda Acordi, a 71-year-old woman who was a minister of the Eucharist in Três Barras (PR).

Before boarding the plane, Acordi received the sacrament of confession. The advice she gave to her three children and six grandchildren was to always be prepared for death. According to her son Rafael Acordi, one of the things Denilda loved most was taking the hosts to the sick.

God and family first

Rafael describes his mother as a humble person, known for her generosity and volunteer work in the Pastoral of Solidarity, caring for the sick and those in social vulnerability.

“First and foremost, it was always God and family. And, whenever she could, she practiced charity in various different situations. So, because she was a very charitable woman, she was part of several projects and helped many people. She did not seek publicity for this, not at all,” he explained. (EPC)
