Lately, the Holy Father’s health has posed issues and speculations in the Italian Press regarding the future of his pontificate.

Newsroom (10/06/2022 10:15 AM, Gaudium Press) This morning, Friday, June 10, the head of the Vatican Press Office, Matteo Bruni, officially announced the suspension of Francis’ Apostolic Trip to Congo and Sudan.

“At the request of his doctors, and in order not to jeopardize the results of the therapy that he is undergoing for his knee, the Holy Father has been forced to postpone, with regret, his Apostolic Journey to the Democratic Republic of Congo and to South Sudan, planned for 2 to July 7, to a later date to be determined.”

Lately, the Holy Father’s health has posed issues and speculations in the Italian Press regarding the future of his pontificate.

In a consistory ceremony planned for Aug. 27, the Pope will be naming 21 new Cardinals, 16 of them younger than 80 and, therefore, eligible to vote for a successor if a conclave were to be held.

Meanwhile, concerns about the state of Francis Health continue to rise.
