A quick look at the social and climatic phenomena leads us to reflect on the foreseeable future that is approaching.

Newsroom (03/09/2022 11:45 AM, Gaudium Press) Extraordinary events in nature and society are increasing throughout the world. From every direction we hear of unprecedented events, historic records and phenomena never before recorded.

If meteorology were not only concerned with predicting what could happen in nature, but turned its eyes for a moment to analyze events in the civil, military, political and ecclesiastical world, what events could it predict for the last quarter of 2022?

Russia: Red Typhoon

At the beginning of the year we had a rising in political temperatures in Eastern Europe, followed immediately by the Russian typhoon which invaded Ukrainian territory, threatening to even devastate other European countries. Ukraine suffered from the typhoon that invaded it simultaneously from the north, the east and the sea. The prediction warned of a violent event, but it turned out to be less strong than it seemed.

Taiwan, high temperatures

Yet, in the southern hemisphere, the weather remained pleasant, while in the northern hemisphere the heat expanded. Between China and the United States the thermometers threatened to reach the records of the years 1939-1945. In Taiwan, the weather is still forecast to remain unsettled for a few more weeks.

More ice between Alaska and Siberia?

The atmosphere could become dense between the United States and Russia in the coming months. The long-lasting cold front that succeeded World War II with the arms and space race may be returning to these countries soon. Charts and models from the 1960s point to the similarities and likelihood of a repeat of these phenomena. The Artemis mission, which aims to install a space station on the Moon, and the reform of the ISS (International Space Station) can maintain unusually low temperatures in the next winter. Also, as we know, the Moon’s seasons can even affect the tides of the Mediterranean and the turbulent waters of the English Channel.

Uncertain winds in Brazil

The winds from all observation sectors in Brazil have been moving in seemingly contradictory directions this past month. As spring approaches, and with it the election period, the direction of the winds is uncertain for the next four years throughout the national territory. While some show favourable winds for the right, others are concerned that inexplicable and obstinate factors are stubbornly blowing to the left. Even with a very polarized graph, there is a centre – not a very decisive one – that is betting on the third way. Whether the right will win over the left or the centre is hard to say. What is certain is that in such a large country, which ranges from the lately snowy mountains of the south to the equatorial forests of the north, it will not be easy to find the same apparel for so many different climates.

Cloud of smoke

The lack of rain in much of Europe increases the cloudiness in central Italy, especially in the seven hills region. Uncertain weather and darkened skies. Every now and then, some violent lightning can startle us, but tourists, in the coming days, are advised to go prepared for a fine drizzle: “water that rains yet does not make wet”.

Urbe residents keep an eye on the newspapers, fake news, reports, the new classifieds and especially on the weather forecast, which can change at any moment…

Meteor shower

Later this year the residents of the Fertile Crescent will be able, with great probability, to contemplate an unprecedented meteor shower between Iran and Israel. The intensity will allow observers to contemplate the phenomenon in broad daylight. The luminous trails, in these cases, can come from all directions and the images will certainly be transmitted worldwide.

If it is during the day, wear the appropriate glasses. The power that is behind this phenomenon is very bright and can damage the eyes.

The coming days?

The future belongs to God. To want to predict today something that will take place tomorrow may be foolhardy; and to affirm with certainty that something will or will not be, is presumptuous, because everything is unpredictable.

Nevertheless, every event has a lesson that can make us see something more than its mere appearance or immediate consequences. Seeing, hearing, or even carefully reading everything that happens in the world can unveil for us God’s plans and – why not say it? – the plans of men.

With all the technological progress of the 21st century, in which the most appropriate instruments for climate observation and prediction have been developed, meteorology has gained great credibility, above all for one reason: it now sees events from a distance and from above. And this is the true vision!

If man must learn from his mistakes, should history not learn from its past?

In fact, analyzing each fact in itself may not be very significant. But taking in the whole world situation, how events are all moving in one direction; how everything is moving with increasing speed towards the ruin of human society itself; how good customs have been cast backwards – all this makes us foresee something tragic for the coming days.

A Frenchman once said regarding arguing with an atheist: “Insult the sun, and it will continue to shine”. So we could conclude this article by using the only certain prediction that can be made about the future of the world – and which at the same time becomes a message of hope: “No matter what happens, ‘in the end, My Immaculate Heart will Triumph!'”
