Colombia – Bogota (31/08/2022 9:45 PM, Gaudium Press) “Recognizing in Mary a perfect way to meet Jesus Christ, to love him with tenderness, deep devotion and to serve him faithfully”, the new leadership of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Colombia consecrated themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Consecration before the Pilgrim MTA of Fatima
The consecration ceremony took place last August 15, Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady, in front of the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fatima that, since June 13, is visiting the dioceses of Colombia and will remain in the South American country until May 2024.
During the act of consecration of the diocese of Colombia, the narrative of the second apparition of Fatima was recalled, in which, according to Sister Lucia’s account, Our Lady assured that “God wants to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart in the world. To those who embrace it, I promise salvation; and these souls will be loved by God, like flowers placed by me to adorn his throne.”
A memorable act that will bring great and unimaginable fruits
The Colombian Castrenian Diocese also quoted Pope Benedict XVI who on one occasion stated that the “Immaculate Heart” is, according to St. Matthew, a heart that, starting from God, has reached a perfect inner unity and therefore “sees God.” The “devotion” to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is, therefore, an approach to this attitude of the heart, in which the “Fiat” – your will be done – becomes the animating center of all existence.
The organization ‘Fatima Mission Colombia’ thanked God “for this moment of hope, grace and mercy that He has granted to the Armed Forces and the National Police of Colombia. A memorable act that will bring great and unimaginable fruits for our nation.” (EPC)
