22 Episcopal Conferences of the Latin American continent

The announcement made by the Holy See Press Office last Tuesday, the 15th, was welcomed with great joy and hope by the presidency of the Latin American Bishops’ Council (Celam), which, thinking of the need to redouble prayers for peace and universal brotherhood, is inviting the 22 bishops’ conferences of the Latin American continent to join in this Marian act.

Filial communion with the Pope

In addition, all ecclesial organizations and the faithful of good will are also invited, according to the respective time zones of each country in Latin America and the Caribbean. The message concludes by reaffirming the affection and filial communion with the Pope, asking God, through His Blessed Mother, to grant world peace.

God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God

“With our prayers and solidarity we embrace our most vulnerable brothers and sisters and victims of violent and fratricidal acts, with the certainty that ‘God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God’ (1 Jn 4:16),” the Celam message concludes. (EPC)
