Newsroom (29/10/2023 19:09, Gaudium Press) The small Catholic community in Bangladesh is experiencing the power of reciting the Holy Rosary. In the last three years, more than sixty thousand Rosaries and one hundred thousand images of Our Lady have been distributed among the country’s eight dioceses.
Programs to encourage Marian devotion
In addition, throughout October, the month traditionally dedicated to the recitation of the Holy Rosary, each of Bangladesh’s eight dioces is experimenting with new ways of encouraging this pious Marian devotional practice among the country’s Catholics.
To encourage devotion to the Mother of God, each of the dioceses in Bangladesh has a coordinator responsible for carrying out various programs to encourage Marian devotion.
Praying the Holy Rosary increases the bond between family members
According to Father Ruben Manuel Gomes, national director of Holy Cross Family Ministries Bangladesh, since he was appointed to the region three and a half years ago, he has been working to spread the prayer of the Holy Rosary in the country.
“We have carried out 680 catechesis programs on this devotion, distributing 60,000 Rosaries, 100,000 images of Our Lady, and 50,000 holy calendars. In this country, countless people pray the Holy Rosary, and many of them feel heard. In addition, we have seen that praying the Holy Rosary increases the bond between family members,” he said. (EPC)
