“A secret impossible to keep”; “a miracle impossible to ignore”, are among the taglines promoting the Film.
Newsroom (September 10, 2020 Gaudium Press) — As soon as the pandemic allows, “Fatima – The Movie” will be on the big screen. The film is attracting a lot of attention, as production and cast are among the famous.
Filmed entirely in Portugal, and starring renowned actors, it is said that the film has the endorsement of the Rector of the Shrine of Fatima, Father Carlos Cabecinhas. It is rather unusual to see Hollywood’s technical resources and budgets applied to this kind of topic. Furthermore, phrases such as “a secret impossible to keep” and “a miracle impossible to ignore”, can be read among taglines promoting the movie.
The actors involved in the film are well known. The soundtrack is performed by Andrea Bocelli, from a script by Paolo Buonvino.
The production seeks to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Jacinta, who passed away in February 1920, almost three years after the apparitions; her death was announced by the Virgin.
Are we about to see a well-achieved recreation of the sublime events that took place in Fatima, or are we about to see a disappointing version? This we shall see.
The truth is that devotion to Our Lady of Fatima and attention to what happened in the Cova da Iria are still entirely relevant to the present day.
