India: Four New Catholic Priests Ordained in Bombay

The priestly ordination ceremony was presided over by Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay and was attended by four auxiliary bishops, as well as priests, family members and friends of the ordinands.

 

Newsroom (03/04/2023 12:01 PM, Gaudium Press) Last Saturday, March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lady, the Archdiocese of Bombay carried out the priestly ordination of four deacons trained at the Saint Pius X seminary, located in Mumbai, India.

Deacons Amol Thopelya, Dylan D’souza, Jordan Govind and Sunil Godinho were ordained priests during a Holy Mass presided over by Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay. The ceremony was concelebrated by four Auxiliary Bishops and was attended by more than 300 people, including members of the clergy, family members and friends of the ordinands.

Father Amol will serve at Our Lady of Egypt church in Kalina. Father Dylan will look after the Church of St. John the Baptist in Thane. Father Jordan will minister his priesthood at Holy Trinity Church in Powai. Eventually Father Sunil was delegated to Sacred Heart Church in Vashi.

The Archdiocese of Bombay currently has 124 Parishes which in total serve a population of over 4,91,249. In April 2022 the local Church celebrated the priestly ordination of two Deacons. (EPC)
