Newsroom (06/09/2022 16:48, Gaudium Press) The production company ‘Bosco Films’ will release in Spain, on September 16th, the documentary “Lourdes”, a feature film directed by Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai, which was a success in France, being seen by more than 250 thousand spectators.
Lourdes is the second most visited city in France
The Shrine of Lourdes is the second most visited place in France, after Paris. Since the middle of the 19th century, countless pilgrims have come to the grotto of Massabielle to ask the Mother of God for healing for their illnesses or disabilities.
It is common for pilgrims to come to Lourdes in groups from many different countries, but it also happens that many go there individually to have a spiritual encounter with Our Lady and Saint Bernadette Soubirous.
Stories told in the documentary
Among the stories narrated in the documentary are that of a father who accompanies his son stricken with a terminal illness; a girl wounded deeply due to the mistreatment of her schoolmates; a man who, broken by grief, tried to commit suicide twice and went to the Shrine of Lourdes because his only hope is Faith.
Filmed in the year 2019 and released months before the pandemic, the French documentary conveys to viewers the depth and meaning of this Marian shrine to pilgrims. The feature was even selected among the finalists for the best documentary award at the César Awards of the French Film Academy and the prestigious Docville Awards.(EPC)
