Missionary Congress Gathers 7,000 People in Paris

The Eighth Edition of the “Mission Congress” Took Place in Paris last Weekend and Gathered More Than Seven Thousand Participants

Newsroom (05/10/2022, 5:21 PM, Gaudium Press)  The Mission Congress is an event born in 2015 from the cooperation of Anuncio, an association promoting Christian culture in France, together with other missionary communities.

The event aims to favor and strengthen the contact between communities and Catholics engaged in evangelization and the missionary spirit of the Church.

The first six editions of the congress were held in Paris. As of 2021, nine other French cities will also host the local Mission Congress.

The eighth edition of the Paris Mission Congress took place last weekend, from September 30th to October 2nd, and gathered more than seven thousand people.

A Congress to Promote the Missionary Spirit

The Mission Congress welcomed people from all over France to participate in meetings, presentations, musical concerts, workshops and prayers during the entire event.

One of the important points of the Mission Congress is the exchange of experience among the participants in order to create a network among the missionaries.

France Shows Dwindling Numbers of Catholics

The Mission Congress comes to breathe new life into Catholics who are dedicated to evangelization in a country where the number of people who call themselves Catholic is decreasing.

The number of baptized people has been showing a noticeable drop over the years, and the number of those who do not believe in God continues to increase, in France. (FM)
