Newsroom (Dec 30/2022 9:45 PM, Gaudium Press) The baby Jesus has disappeared from the nativity scene of the Jesuit Church of St. Michael in Munich, Germany. On Tuesday morning, the sacristan found the manger empty. The nativity scene is mounted on the front altar on the right side of the church and dates back to the 18th century. The image of the Baby Jesus is a replica. It is about 25 cm long.

The rector of the church, Father Martin Stark SJ, asks the person who took the baby Jesus to put him back in the manger or somewhere he can find.

Mary and Joseph miss their newborn son. Fr. Martin Stark is very grateful to the people of Munich: “I have already been offered a replacement image, in particular by three people.”

However, he still has hope of finding it: “We appeal to the conscience of the thief and are confident that he will bring it back so that all the people can see it again.”

He even placed a note in the manger of the manager:

“Here lay our baby Jesus, who is part of our historic manger. Unfortunately, we lost him on the second day of Christmas. I beg whoever took it to bring the image back to us!”
