The theme of the fourth virtual pilgrimage, taking place during Lent 2022 is “Walking through the Holy Land hand in hand with Moses.”
Newsroom (03/11/2021 6:59 PM, Gaudium Press) Last Sunday, October 31, Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, Apostolic Nuncio in Israel and Apostolic Delegate for Jerusalem and Palestine, presided the closing Mass on the third virtual pilgrimage “Walking through the Holy Land hand in hand with Mary Magdalene”.
Closing Mass at the Shrine of Magdala
The celebration took place at the Shrine of Magdala, in Galilee and was concelebrated by Bishop Mauro Lalli, from the Apostolic Nunciature of Jordan; Fr Juan María Solana, who guided the virtual retreat; and priests of the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ who serve in the Holy Land.
“Today the virtual pilgrimage ends and we begin the real pilgrimage: Christ yesterday, today and forever. Following what He does, what He says, what He teaches. May He also accompany us to make each day the actual pilgrimage,” said Father Solana, priest of the Legionaries of Christ.
100 thousand participants
The third edition of the virtual pilgrimage to the Holy Land, active for five weeks, was attended by almost 100,000 people. According to information released by the organizers of the event, the event had 95,340 virtual pilgrims from 149 countries.
At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, a raffle of pilgrimages to the Holy Land was held for participants from Europe and the Americas. The theme of the fourth virtual pilgrimage, taking place during Lent 2022 is “Walking through the Holy Land hand in hand with Moses.” (EPC)
