Newsroom(20/07/2023 9:36, Gaudium Press) The Archdiocese of Onitsha, located in Nigeria, is rejoicing over the sixteen new priests ordained on Saturday July 8, at the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.
Ceremony presided over by the Archbishop of Onitsha
The priestly ordination ceremony, which was presided over by the local Archbishop, Valerian Maduka Okeke, was attended by numerous faithful, as well as friends and family of the ordinands.
Names of the new priests
The newly ordained priests are Sylvester Chisom Afudoh, Peter Ifeanyichukwu Areh, Jude Ugochukwu Ezeji, Arinzechukwu Valentine Ezumezu, Anthony Ikegbunam, Kingsley Chukwuebuka Jibuaku, Joseph Okechukwu Nnanyelugo, Remigius Nwangwu, Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu Nwankwo, Aloysius Okeke, Chuk wubuikem Okongwuigwe, Charles Chibueze Okonkwo, Michael Chukwuemeka Okosa, Henry Onyebuchi Osakwe, Emmanuel Tobechukwu Oyi and Francis Mary Chinechelum Udeaja.

The Archdiocese of Onitsha is one of the largest archdioceses in the West African country, comprising almost 190 parishes. In 2022, the Archdiocese ordained nine priests. Of the 3,200,000 inhabitants of the region, around 2,000,000 are Catholics. (EPC)
