The winning design will be printed on paper, plastic, fabric, tapestry, stickers, appliances and devices of small and large dimensions. In May, a selection committee will evaluate all submissions.
Vatican City (22/02/2022 16:26, Gaudium Press) On Tuesday, February 22, the Vatican launched a design contest, searching for the new logo of the Jubilee Year 2025. The event, promoted by the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, is open to all interested parties and will close on May 20. The dicastery is responsible for the organization of the Holy Year.
Selection committee
Participants can submit their work individually or as a group. The winning design will be printed on paper, plastic, fabric, tapestry, stickers, appliances and devices of small and large dimensions. In May, a selection committee will evaluate all submissions. Participants can submit designs digitally by uploading them to the website www.iubilaeum2025.va
The president of the Vatican dicastery, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, emphasizes that the logo “expresses the identity and the particular spiritual theme of each Holy Year, containing the theological meaning around which this historic event develops and takes place.”
Requirements
Submitted projects, including motto and design, must fulfill specific requirements: intuitive and straightforward; unique, original and unpublished; adaptable to different sizes for printing and current digital formats and social networks with versions in colour and in black and white; in Latin but flexible to other major languages.
The logo elements must be consistent with the theological message of this Holy Year: ‘Pilgrims of Hope.’ “The Jubilee logo symbolically conveys a message immediately and appropriately, and is an expression of both the universality of the Church’s message and the particular spiritual needs of our contemporary, who find comfort in this message, inspired by the theme of hope,” the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization added in a statement.
