Poland Encourages Young Couples to Have Larger Families

Poland wants to address the European demographic winter and encourages young couples to have more children.

Newsroom (10/01/2022 9:00 AM, Gaudium Press) The Polish government plans to implement an aid program encouraging couples to have larger families and favour the grown of the national birth rate.

Poland has one of the most restrictive abortion policies in Europe.

As reported in “Notes from Poland”, the Minister of Labor, Family and Social Policy, Marlena Malag, announced that the Polish government is developing a program to promote better jobs, housing, and financial aid for families with children.

Based on recent statistics, Malag reported that 95% of Polish couples want to have children, but they are concerned about financial stability.

Like much of Europe, Poland is seeing its birth rate gradually decrease.

With a birth rate so low, experts predict that the population of Poland will decrease by 4 million in the next 30 years.

Economists warn that the shrinking population in Europe will have disastrous consequences. (FM)
