Pope Francis blessed another bell from the “Yes to Life” Foundation that will be sent to the cathedral in Lusaka, Zambia
Newsroom (03/25/2022, 21:40, Gaudium Press) Before the General Audience last Wednesday, March 22, Pope Francis blessed the bell “The voice of the unborn,” which was donated to Zambia by the “Yes to Life” Foundation.
The bell will be destined for the Infant Jesus Cathedral in Lusaka. Afterward, other cities in the country will also receive the bell blessed by the Pontiff.
The blessing of the bell took place near Paul VI Hall. Present with Pope Francis were the Archbishop of Lusaka, Archbishop Alick Banda, and the vice-president of the “Yes to Life” Foundation, Bogdan Romaniuk.
Pope Francis referred to the bell “The Voice of the Unborn” during the General Audience when praising the Yes to Life Association’s initiative:
As a sign of the need to protect human life from conception to natural death, the ‘Yes to Life’ Foundation has assigned the bell ‘The Voice of the Unborn’ to Zambia, which I blessed this morning. May its sound convey the message that all life is sacred and inviolable. I bless them from my heart.”
Bells the “voice of the unborn” are present in countries such as Poland, Ukraine, and Ecuador, and other countries have already expressed interest in having a bell in their territories.
The Yes to Life Foundation (Sì alla Vita) was born in 1975 in Italy to promote respect for life from the moment of conception and to guarantee the necessary means for the development of the unborn child. (FM)
