Doctors maintain that the clinical condition of the Argentine Pontiff remains complex, although the prognosis has been revised.
Newsroom (11/03/2025 Gaudium Press) The Holy See has provided another update on the health of Pope Francis, who has been under treatment at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14. Despite the lifting of the initial prognosis, doctors are still closely monitoring his condition, which remains complex.
Condition Stable, Slight Improvement Noted
As of today, the Pope’s clinical condition is stable, and there is a slight improvement. The Vatican’s statement indicates that Pope Francis is continuing with the prescribed treatments. He has been receiving high-flow oxygen through nasal cannulas during the day.
Pope Francis Focuses on Prayer During Treatment
In the morning, the Pontiff received the Holy Eucharist and dedicated his time to prayer. In line with his spiritual commitment, Pope Francis did not receive visitors and participated in the ongoing spiritual exercises via a video connection from the hospital. This is in line with his decision to stay connected with the spiritual activities taking place at the Vatican.
No Catechesis on Wednesday
The Press Office also announced that there will be no catechesis on Wednesday, March 12. This is due to the absence of the General Audience, which had already been cancelled in light of the spiritual exercises being held with the Roman Curia. A new medical bulletin will be released on the evening of March 12.
