Yesterday, January 11, Pope Francis visited a record store in Rome at around 7 pm local time. The Pontiff blessed the store and the owner, an old acquaintance.
Newsroom (12/01/2022 10:00 AM, Gaudium Press) The Pope arrived in a Fiat 500L and entered StereoSound, a record store located a few meters from the Pantheon in Rome.
According to a Vatican source, the store belongs to a friend. Francis blessed the premises. The shop was just renovated.
In a video recorded by journalist Javier Martínez-Brocal, we see Pope Francis leaving the store after spending about ten minutes inside.
Francis was presented with a classical music record by the owner who knew him when he was a cardinal and frequented her store.
This is not Francis’ first surprise excursion. In 2015, he went to an optical shop in Piazza del Popolo to change his glasses. The following year, he went to buy shoes at an orthopedic supply store not far from the Vatican. In February 2021, the Bishop of Rome also paid an impromptu visit to Edith Bruck, poet and Holocaust survivor, at her home in Rome.
