Pope Francis’ schedule canceled due to “mild flu”

According to a statement released by the Holy See, the cancellation is also a precaution given the trip he will make in the coming days.

Vatican City (23/09/2024 14:59, Gaudium Press) On Monday morning, September 23, Pope Francis had all his appointments canceled due to his health. The Holy Father has a “mild flu”.

The information was released to journalists by the Holy See Press Office. The communiqué says: “Due to the mild flu, and as a precaution given the trip of the next few days, the papal audiences scheduled for today are canceled.”

The Pope will receive visitors to the Apostolic Palace.

The Pontiff’s agenda for today included receiving the participants of the Christmas contest and the members of the Plenary Assembly of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences at the Apostolic Palace.

Scheduled trip to Luxembourg and Belgium

Francis is scheduled to travel to Luxembourg and Belgium later this week, between September 26 and 29. This will be the 46th international trip of his pontificate and comes just a few weeks after his trip to Southeast Asia and Oceania. (EPC)
