The Mission of the Rosary of Men in Brazil
According to the organizers of the Rosary of Men in Brazil, the mission of this initiative is “to rescue, for the bosom of the Church of Christ, men of all ages, because the masculine presence in the Church is essential for the formation of the family and of Christian society. The Men’s Rosary is an example of Faith and devotion”.
“The prayer of the rosary, besides leading us to prayer, leads us to meditate on the main mysteries of redemption that Christ offers us. With the meditation on the redemptive mystery, we also remember Mary of Nazareth, who assumed the divine maternity by doing the will of God, giving us the Savior,” says the registration site.
Origin of the Rosary of Men
According to the National Adviser of the Rosary, Father Vandemir Meister, although there are reports of men who, here in Brazil, since the time of slavery, gathered to pray, only in 1997 these groups became official.
The emergence occurred within the Schoenstatt Movement, with a small number of men linked to the Mother and Queen Shrine in Olinda (PE). From there, the groups of Rosary of Men began to spread throughout the country, reaching more than one million members. (EPC)
