Newsroom (06/09/2022 20:32, Gaudium Press) The Holy See Press Office released last Saturday, 2, the ‘Rescriptum ex audientia SS.mi’, a document signed by Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin and dated August 22, in which Pope Francis approves the Regulations of the Control Commission for the project to renovate the barracks of the Pontifical Swiss Guard.
Based at the Secretariat of State and chaired by Cardinal Parolin, the Control Commission is a decision-making body for all matters related to the project, including the definition of the work schedule and can rely on the support of specially constituted groups of works technicians.
The purpose of the Control Commission is to coordinate the planning phases of the work and supervise the financing of the final project conducted by the Foundation in compliance with Vatican legislation and international obligations.
The members of the Commission are the Counselor for General Affairs of the Secretariat of State, acting as coordinator, the Secretary General of the Governorate, the Secretary for the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See, the Director of the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services of the Governorate, and the President of the Commission for the Protection of the Historic and Artistic Monuments of the Holy See.
