Newsroom (01/08/2022 16:50, Gaudium Press) Today, August 1st, the Catholic Church celebrates the liturgical memory of St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori, Bishop, Doctor of the Church and founder of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (the Redemptorists).
This Saint published one hundred and twenty works, among books and treatises. The main ones are: “Moral Theology”; “Glories of Mary”, “Visits to the Blessed Sacrament”; and “Treatise on Prayer”. We reproduce below ten phrases of this Saint about Prayer.
Phrases by Saint Alphonsus Mary de Liguori
01 – “He who prays is saved. He who does not pray condemns himself”.

03 – “Prayer is the only way to obtain the necessary aids for salvation”.
04 – “There is no means more necessary and more effective to overcome the temptations against angelic virtue than the immediate recourse to God through prayer”.
