Newsroom (08/02/2022 17:15, Gaudium Press) Catholic shrines in several countries will join together on February 11, Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and World Day of the Sick, in a day of prayer with the intention of caring for the health of the sick. The event is sponsored by Holy Land Mexico, Magdala, Catholic.net, Desde la fe, Zenit, Regnum Christi and Unión de Voluntades.
The mysteries of the Holy Rosary will be prayed from the Holy Land, the Shrine of Lourdes (France), the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Mexico), and the Shrine of the Fifth Guadalupan Apparition (Mexico). The event will be transmitted live via Youtube.
Bishops and priests in charge of shrines
The prayer day will be led by the Bishops and priests responsible for the shrines, and Bishop Roberto Yenny, Bishop of Ciudad Valles and in charge of the Episcopal dimension of the Pastoral of Health of the Mexican Episcopal Conference.
This day of prayer will be led by Ana Paula Morales, director of Holy Land Mexico, and Estrella Baz, member of Regnum Christi. Father Mauricio Elías will be responsible for coordinating the event at the Shrine of Lourdes (France), and Father Gilberto Valdovinos will do it from the Shrine of the Fifth Guadalupana Apparition in Mexico.
Theological and Pastoral Reflection on the Sick
In the Holy Land, from the Pool of Bethsaida, the prayer day will be led by Father Juan María Solana. In the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, Bishop Salvador Martínez Ávila, the rector of the Marian shrine, will be in charge.
Father Luis Pablo Garza will assume the coordination of the prayers from the Shrine of Our Lady Undoer of Knots, located in Cancun, Mexico. Monsignor Roberto Yenny García, responsible for the Dimension of Health Pastoral Ministry of the Mexican Bishops’ Conference (CEM), will give a theological and pastoral reflection on the sick. (EPC)
