This spiritual itinerary is open to all interested parties and is an invitation to contemplate the numerous references to St. Peter in the Vatican Basilica.

Vatican City (10/06/2022 3:00 PM, Gaudium Press) After promoting Marian itineraries during May, the Vatican has prepared a new initiative in St. Peter’s Basilica dedicated to the prince of the apostles.

Spiritual Itinerary

The experience started on June 8. It begins in the atrium of the Basilica and ends at the Altar of the Confession. Through their artistic beauty, it is possible to feel the enchantment and splendour of the meanings and Christian doctrine that the images offer. The spiritual itinerary is open to all interested, as an invitation to contemplate the numerous references to St. Peter present in the Vatican Basilica. 

Free Admission

Pilgrims from all over the world meet in the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter, which rises around the tomb of the Apostle Peter, while the embrace of Bernini’s Colonnade, in its architectural magnificence, welcomes everyone. There, pilgrims have the opportunity to participate in daily liturgical celebrations.

It is timely to remember that only decorously dressed visitors are allowed into the Vatican Basilica. Admission is free. The Spiritual Itinerary of St Peter takes place every Wednesday afternoon until June 29, the Solemnity of Peter and Paul. (EPC)
