Unique and inexhaustible, the love of the Sacred Heart for us reaches unimaginable extremes. How can we not have, as a consequence, an absolute trust in the Divine Mercy, despite our miseries?

Newsdesk (21/06/2023 16:30, Gaudium Press) In considering devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we run the risk of falling far short of the treasury of goodness and mercy that this form of piety places at the disposal of the faithful, because the Heart of Jesus is the most authentic and substantial tabernacle of the three Persons of the Most Holy Trinity and, consequently, there seems to be no better way of adoring the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit than through Him.

Indeed, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, invoked in the Litany dedicated to Him as “substantially united to the Word of God”, is encompassed in an unfathomable and mysterious way by the two natures of Christ: the divine and the human.

Symbol par excellence of God’s infinite love for sinners and the most poignant manifestation of His capacity to forgive, the Sacred Heart constitutes a sure font of salvation since, as Pope Leo XIII emphasizes: “Since the Sacred Heart is the symbol and the clear image of the infinite charity of Jesus Christ, which stirs us to love one another, it is altogether fitting to consecrate oneself to His most august Heart; which means nothing other than to give oneself to and unite oneself with Jesus Christ, for whatever honour, homage, piety that is rendered to the Divine Heart, in reality and in truth, is paid to Christ Himself.” [LEO XIII.
