Newsroom (02/08/2022 16:53, Gaudium Press) The Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Kharkiv-Zaporizhia, Bishop Jan Sobilo, assured that the prayer of the Rosary is the most powerful weapon in man’s spiritual struggle between good and evil.

Hope in the Protection of God

“Those who feel fear and have lost hope experience the certainty of God’s protection through the Rosary and regain courage,” the prelate said during the International Youth Festival in Medjugorje.

In recent years, millions of rosaries have been distributed in Ukraine and many people who were far from the Church have ended up learning to invoke the Mother of God through the recitation of the rosary which is Our Lady’s favourite prayer.

The battle for Spiritual Life

Bishop Sobilo also said that war is not only in real life, but also in spiritual life. “Every serious sin is like a rocket that destroys cities and helps the war to continue. On the other hand, conversion, prayer, fasting and humility can end wars and make the impossible possible,” he assured.

Prayer, the sacraments and the word of God are the key to overcome evil in this battle, to be faithful to God even in the most difficult circumstances and to build bridges again to fight the enemies.

Ukrainian Soldiers Wear the Rosary in the War Against Russia

The prelate also told that in recent weeks he has spoken with several Ukrainian soldiers, who reported finding in prayer and fasting the help and protection needed during particularly dangerous moments. “Many soldiers wear the rosary around their necks, as David carried his slingshot against Goliath,” the auxiliary bishop reported.(EPC)
