Newsroom (14/11/2021 12:30, Gaudium Press) During the days of November 12th, 13th and 14th the Divine Mercy Sanctuary, located in the city of Curitiba, hosted the 20th National Congress of Divine Mercy.

The event, which is distinguished for being the largest formative meeting in Brazil focused on the Divine Mercy, was held online and in person, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and followed all the precautions to prevent the transmission of the disease.

Theme of the 20th Divine Mercy National Congress

The theme of the congress, “Divine Mercy in the Mystery of Redemption”, was inspired by the theological teachings of Blessed Father Michael Sopoćko, based on the second volume of the book ‘God’s Mercy in His works’, which will be released soon.

Following this theme, it seeks to reflect on our salvation as a work of the Mercy of God, who rescued us from slavery with the price of the life of His Son, who before dying suffered His Passion.

According to Blessed Father Michael Sopoćko, Jesus’ death is not as the “deed of a hero who for ideals gives up his life, nor as an example given to us so that we are ready to suffer even unto death for the divine cause, but as a merciful sacrifice for us, as a merciful ransom for many.”

History and Schedule of the Divine Mercy National Congress
