A total of 20,000 miraculous medals were taken to Kyiv. Another 20,000 were given to the Auxiliary Bishop of Lviv. The remaining 10,000 were donated to the faithful of churches in Lviv.
Ukraine – Kyiv (06/04/2022 16:43, Gaudium Press) The Fédération Pro Europa Christiana has sent 50,000 medals to Ukraine, intending to spread them throughout the country. Catholic Missionary Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez was responsible for the distribution.
The drama of war in the spiritual field
In an interview with Infocatolica, the religious underlined that when the Bishops of Ukraine asked the Pope to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, they reminded us that “the drama of war is fought above all in the spiritual field. Hence the idea of sending and distributing the medal that has given the most graces, ‘the miraculous medal'”.

The remaining 10,000 were given to the faithful of the churches in Lviv. “What struck me the most is the gratitude of the people. Ukrainian Catholics have suffered persecution and martyrdom for decades; they have a very deep Faith forged with blood. And to know that other countries are praying for them and that this medal is a symbol of that unity in prayer has left their hearts in shock,” Gutiérrez remarked.
Need of Conversion
“The Pilgrim statue of the Virgin of Fatima is visiting the largest Greek-Catholic parish in the country. Every afternoon they make the procession reciting the Holy Rosary around the church. When the anti-aircraft sirens sound, the procession is not suspended. It continues in the basement of the church,” he recalls.
According to Gutiérrez, “the Bishops of Ukraine have seen very clearly that with the conversion of men’s hearts problems are solved. If there is no conversion, man’s sin will continue to produce greater evils. That is why the Virgin of Fatima asked for the consecration of Russia and also for penance and conversion. This is the way she has indicated so that we may see her Immaculate Heart triumph as soon as possible.” (EPC)
