In addition to Christmas stamps, stamps commemorating the World Day of the Poor and the Pope’s travels in 2020 have also been released.

Newsdesk (21/11/2021 9:00 PM, Gaudium Press) The Vatican City State Philatelic and Numismatic Office has made available as of Tuesday, November 9th, its Christmas 2021 stamps and also the commemorative collection for the World Day of the Poor and the Pope’s travels in 2020.

Three Wise Men and Holy Family

The Christmas stamps feature the Three Wise Men, important personages in representing the birth of the baby Jesus, with features of the many people of vulnerable state who frequent St. Peter’s square in search of help.

The artwork is by Adam Piekarski, a young Polish man with a passion for art and an eye keen enough to reproduce on sheets of paper his fellow human beings who live on the streets of Rome fighting for a dignified life.

Another Christmas stamp presented, is composed of a reproduction of the Holy Family as a reminder of the special Family Year ‘Amoris laetitia’.

World Day of the Poor and Other Commemorations

As well, there are stamps dedicated to the 5th World Day of the Poor, with photos that reproduce the celebration of Holy Mass by Pope Francis and the meal that the Pontiff shared with them.

There are also stamps dedicated to the ninth centenary of the foundation of the Abbey of Prémontré, begun with the solemn profession of Saint Norbert and his 40 companions. The Pope’s travels in 2020 were affected by the pandemic, so only the Bari meeting is remembered: “Mediterranean: border of peace”. Finally, through a first stamp issue dedicated to Oceania, begins a virtual pilgrimage around the Earth on the way to the Jubilee of 2025.
