One of the main objectives of this initiative is to encourage young people to become missionaries. The event with terminate with the celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday the 18th.
The Dehonian Youth Mission (MDJ) was launch by the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus founded in France in 1878 by Father Leon Dehon. He was a well educated man, intelligent, dynamic, holy and always turned to youth and their problems especially of the most poor.
Since 1990, the Dehonian Youth Mission (MDJ) are in Brazil, seeks to bring young people to live the mission received at baptism, through evangelizing by being at the service of the Kingdom of God. Following Mary’s example the young person who joins the project is assumed as a disciple of Jesus, and he lives his mission by taking the Word of God to others in society.
The mission takes place in the Dehonian parishes of southern Brazil and it is divided in four stages.
The project’s charisma is love and reparation: to love the Father who loves us so much, to love the Son who in proof of his love for us did the will of the Father dying on the cross for us, to love the Holy Spirit, who watches over our works and our acts of love; reparation is understood as an offering of our lives, works and deeds, in reparation for those hearts that do not love the Heart of Jesus.
