The Pope to visit Latin America in 2015

Vatican City – (Tuesday, 01/20/2015, Gaudium Press) – In 2015 Pope Francis plans to do more international travels.

In conversation with journalists during his return from the Philippines the Pope confirm that he plans to visit Latin America later this year. The countries are Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay.

The Pontiff also confirmed that he may travel again to Latin America in 2016. This time the countries to be visited are “God willing”, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.

He also said that for logistical reasons he may not be able to go to California. The canonization of Frei Juniper Serra will be held at the Shrine of Washington, DC.
Pope Francis also excluded the possibility of entering the North American territory by the border of Mexico.

In addition to the trip to Latin America, Pope Francis’s goal for 2015 is also to visit Uganda and Central African Republic, two African countries suffering the ravages of the Ebola virus epidemic.
