Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Thursday 09/10/2015, Gaudium Press) The Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, Cardinal Orani João Tempesta, has just launched the official site of the conference Continental Conference of Mercy (Congresso Continental da Misericórdia, Accom), which will be held in Aparecida, from the 25 to 28 August 2016. This event took place at the famous Christ the Redeemer in the city of Rio.
The site (www.accom2016.org) will present all the information related to the Conference, in addition to receiving the registration of those interested in attending the event.
The conference which has as its motto “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Mt 5,7), is coordinated and sponsored by Cardinal Orani, Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro and by Cardinal Raimundo Damasceno of Aparecida. Cardinal Damasceno has sent an audio message for the launching of the site.
The event finished with the prayer of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, a devotion based on the on the writings of Saint Faustina Kowalska, an uneducated Polish nun who, in obedience to her spiritual director, wrote a diary of about 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God’s mercy. Even before her death in 1938, the devotion to The Divine Mercy had begun to spread. (LMI)
