Bishop Egan gives blessing to Rosary on the Coast

Portsmouth, UK (Tuesday, February 27, 2018, Gaudium Press) Bishop Philip Egan of Portsmouth has given his backing to the Rosary on the Coast, calling it an “important witness”.

In a message to organisers, Bishop Egan said he was “happy to support your initiative”.

“Thank you for this important witness to the Truth of faith in Christ and to the power of prayer which by God’s grace will surely bring much goodness,” the bishop wrote.

“Our culture is facing so many challenges at this moment, not least to the sound values that underpin our family and social life.”

“May Mary’s prayers win our land back to the Lord,” he added.

Bishop Egan gave his blessing the to campaign, writing: “May God bless this work and bring it to a good outcome.”

Bishop Egan becomes the latest prelate to back the Rosary on the Coast. Last week, Cardinal Vincent Nichols sent his best wishes to the organisers, joining Bishop John Keenan of Paisley in lending his support.
