St. Angela Merici, educator and spiritual mother, describes the gift of Motherhood to her spiritual daughters. 

Newsroom (29/01/2024 19:53, Gaudium Press) God wanted mothers to reflect the infinite love and affection he has for every human being, created in his image and likeness (cf. Gen 1:26-27), destined for divine filiation by adoption and co-heir of glory with Christ (cf. Rom 8:14-17; 1 Jn 3:1-2) through the regenerating action of the waters of Holy Baptism.

St. Angela Merici, an outstanding educator and spiritual mother, describes this gift in her testament to her daughters:

“Mothers according to nature, even if they have a thousand children, carry each and every one engraved on their hearts and never forget any of them, by the force of the true love they have for them. It even seems that the more children they have, the more their love and care for each one grows. With much more reason, mothers according to the spirit can and should do the same, because spiritual love is stronger than that which comes from blood ties.”

Now, if mothers in general, both natural and spiritual, act in this way, what can we say about the love of Mary Most Holy for each of her children, who was conceived by the divine mind to be the Mother of the Incarnate Word himself?
