Prudent are those who seek to be in life just as they wish God to find them at the hour of death.

You must behave in all your works and thoughts as if it were already the hour of death. If you had a good conscience you would not greatly fear death. It would be better to avoid sin than to flee from death. If you are not ready today, how will you be ready tomorrow? Tomorrow is uncertain, and who knows if it will be granted to you?
