The event will gather bishops, priests, religious, and lay leaders from across Asia to shape the Church’s future in the region
Newsroom (20/03/2025 Gaudium Press) Catholic Bishops from across Asia have revealed the official logo for the upcoming Asian Missionary Congress 2025, set to take place in Malaysia later this year. The logo was chosen from 58 entries submitted by 11 countries in a competition organized by the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC).
Selection Team for the Logo
The logo was selected by a distinguished team including Cardinals Filipe Neri Ferrao, Pablo Virgilio David, and Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi, along with Father William LaRousse, Assistant Secretary-General. According to Bishop George Pallipparambil of the Diocese of Miao, the panel carefully evaluated the five shortlisted designs.
Criteria for Selection
The winning logo was chosen based on its originality, creativity, and its relevance to the theme, “The Great Pilgrimage of Hope.” Designs were evaluated for their symbolism of hope, journey, unity, and pilgrimage—all central elements of the event’s mission to share the Catholic faith across Asia.
About the Asian Missionary Congress 2025
The Asian Missionary Congress 2025 will take place from November 27 to 30 in Penang, Malaysia. This will follow the first congress held in Thailand in 2006. The event aims to equip and empower Church leaders throughout Asia as they embark on a shared journey of hope and unity in faith. Bishops, priests, religious, and lay leaders from all over Asia will gather to imagine and shape the future of the Church in the region.
