Newsroom (11/26/2021 11:13 AM, Gaudium Press) Some days ago, Gaudium Press reported the theft of a relic of St. John Paul II belonging to the Basilica of the Blessed Sacrament in Buenos Aires. On Wednesday evening, it returned.
The relic – a painting containing a drop of blood of St. John Paul II – arrived in Argentina in 2016. It was a gift from Cardinal Stanislao Dziwisz, the personal secretary of the Polish Pope.
Aica news agency reports that the relic returned to the temple at 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, as the person who took it decided to return it to the basilica, according to the rector of the Polish Catholic Mission, Fr. Jorge Jacek Twarog, OFM.
During his interview to Aica Agency, Fr. Twarog was very moved. He thanked everyone who shared the news about the theft and also thanked those who prayed for its recovery.
He also invoked the intercession of St. John Paul II to protect Argentina.
