Biographical data
Father Storni was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1942. After obtaining his law degree, he dedicated his life almost entirely to defending the faith and the inspiring principles of Christian civilization; to this end, he participated in various associations in his native country.
While still a young man, he met Professor Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira in the Argentine capital, with whom he established a close friendship and deep ties until Dr. Plinio died in 1995. Dr. Plinio entrusted him with important missions in Europe and America, relying on his exceptional talent and deep piety.
As a member of the Heralds of the Gospel, Fr. Storni was one of the first priests of the association, ordained in 2008. A man of great culture, he always wanted to continue studying. Fr Storni studied Canon Law in Venice, obtaining a doctorate in 2013.
In 2017 Fr Jorge María Storni was elected Superior General of the Apostolic Society Virgo Flos Carmeli, a post he held until his death.
A very accessible person to anyone who wanted to approach him, everyone knew that in Father Storni – or before he became a priest, in ‘Doctor Storni’ – they would find the succinct and precise word, plenty of prudence, wisdom and keen reflection.
Fr Storni was a perfect example of a ‘gentleman,’ someone who shared a welcoming dignity that was ready to help, with a humble touch that made his presence pleasant, discreet and dear in any environment.
There are numerous testimonies about the notable example he gave in practicing virtues. His sacramental life accompanied him to his deathbed, where he was able to attend masses.
Father Storni’s body will be buried on June 15 at the Consolação Cemetery in São Paulo, Brazil.
