Bishop José Ignacio Munilla of Orihuela-Alicante in Spain has expressed his views on the LGBT ideology, stating that it is constructed contrary to nature and will eventually collapse, causing harm to individuals.

Newsroom(13/06/2023 20:30Gaudium PressDuring an episode of the Sixth Continent radio program on Radio Maria Spain, Munilla criticized the imposition of the LGBT flag at public institutions. He referred to a response from Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, who tweeted a message to Joe Biden when the president shared a post on Sunday boasting on social media that the LGBT flag was flying at the White House.

Strickland’s tweet read, “I’m afraid you are correct Mr. President, but remember, pride cometh before the fall.” Munilla echoed Strickland’s comment, stating that being proud of pride is unintelligent because pride comes before a downfall, as seen in sacred history.

Munilla expressed his concern that the rainbow, which traditionally represents the covenant with God, has been transformed into a sign of pride that separates humanity from God, natural law, and reality. He described it as a symbol of defiance, akin to the Tower of Babel, proclaiming human pride and self-made projects.

Referring to the biblical story of the Tower of Babel, Munilla emphasized that the rainbow becomes “a kind of tower of Babel that rises defiantly saying: I am proud and I have my own project,” the bishop pointed out that structures built on clay lack cohesion and ultimately collapse just like the Tower of Babel did fall.

He argued that gender ideology and the LGBT ideology are similarly flawed, being contrary to human nature, contrary to man’s own being, and the sexual duality in which God created humanity. Therefore, he believes that these ideologies will inevitably fail, despite their politically enforced introduction, and only cause more harm to individuals.

Munilla observed that many wounded and broken individuals, disillusioned by the consequences of such unreality, seek solace within the Church. He praised the Catholic faithful in the United States who have launched campaigns emphasizing the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in June and proclaiming that “Christ is King.”
