The work gathers and presents in an organized way the writings of St. Maximilian Kolbe, from his first notebooks to the last card written from prison and addressed to his mother.

Newsroom (10/01/2022 10:22 PM, Gaudium Press) A book that gathers the writings of Saint Maximilian Kolbe is being published in Brazil. The content of the work, more than 2500 pages, was translated from an Italian version that compiled what Kolbe wrote in several languages, including Italian, Polish and Latin.

“It is an impressive material placed at our disposal to be able to grasp the thought of the founder of the Militia of the Immaculate, the very rich reflections that remain very current and stimulate us; his spirituality aimed at holiness and above all at the mission, his passion for the Immaculate and his particular Mariology,” explains Matilde Luvistto, one of the translators of the book.

During his life, Kolbe corresponded with many people, wrote many articles for newspapers and magazines, and wrote down his mystical inspirations. The work gathers and presents in an organized way the writings of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, from his first notebooks to the last card written from prison and addressed to his mother.

“Through the writings of St. Maximilian Kolbe, we will be able to know the details of his life story: his feelings, his worldview, his ecclesiology, and his spiritual experiences,” said Gilson Miguel Nunes, OFM Conv., International Assistant of the Militia of the Immaculate Conception.

A ‘dive’ into the soul of the saintly founder of the Militia of the Immaculate

Aimed at students, researchers, and those who wish to know and deepen their knowledge of the spirituality of St. Maximilian Kolbe, this book begins with a brief presentation written by Friar Raffaele di Muro, OFM Conv., who is an expert on the Saint’s life.

Sebastian Benito Quaglio, OFM Conv., co-founder of the Missionaries of the Immaculate Father Kolbe Institute, who also writes a message of encouragement in the work, emphasizes that the publication of this book facilitates the reader to make a ‘plunge’ into the soul of the saintly founder of the Militia of the Immaculate.

Saint Maximilian Kolbe

Born in 1894 in Poland, Saint Maximilian Kolbe founded the Militia of the Immaculate in 1917, where he developed intense work with the means of communication. The Saint died in 1941 in the concentration camp of Auschwitz, after offering himself in the place of a family father. (EPC)
