The new institution will bring together four Foundations: Domus Sanctae Marthae, Domus Romana Sacerdotalis, Domus Internationalis Paulus VI and Casa San Benedetto.
Newsroom (05/05/2022 7:32 PM, Gaudium Press) Through a Chirograph, Pope Francis has created a new institution linked to the Holy See: the Domus Vaticanae, erected as a public canonical juridical person, with its headquarters in the Vatican City State.
A new institution encompassing four Foundations
The new institution will bring together four Foundations: Domus Sanctae Marthae, Domus Romana Sacerdotalis, Domus Internationalis Paulus VI and Casa San Benedetto. All of them will be suppressed. Their goods will be returned to the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See.
The purpose of the first three Foundations (Domus Sanctae Marthae, Domus Romana Sacerdotalis and Domus Internationalis Paulus VI) was to offer hospitality, in a spirit of priestly fraternity, to clerics serving in the Roman Curia.
Domus Vaticanae Regulations
The Casa San Benedetto Foundation was created with the aim of providing a suitable residence for retired personnel who served the Holy See in the Pontifical Representations.
The Pontiff also approved an attached statute by which Domus Vaticanae will be governed and further delegated Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin to approve the Regulations of the new institution. (EPC)
