“I sincerely thank you for the prayers for my health in the Square. May God bless you and the Virgin protect you. Thank you,” said the Pontiff.

Newsroom (06/03/2025 Gaudium Press) On the evening of March 6, before the daily Rosary in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis sent a voice message to the faithful and members of the Roman Curia, expressing his heartfelt gratitude for their prayers.

Pope’s Heartfelt Thanks to Faithful

In the message, Pope Francis said, “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the prayers for my health made in the Square; I follow them from here. May God bless you and may the Virgin protect you. Thank you.” His voice was noticeably tired, but his words were filled with deep appreciation.

Daily Prayers for the Pope’s Health

Since February 24, at 8:00 PM local time, the faithful have gathered in St. Peter’s Square every evening to pray for Pope Francis’ recovery. This marked the 11th consecutive night of prayer for the Pope’s health. The initiative is led by the Vatican’s Secretariat of State and the Diocese of Rome.

A Sacred Moment of Prayer in St. Peter’s Square

During the prayer service, the image of ‘Mary, Mother of the Church’ was placed in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. Cardinals, Bishops, priests, religious, and hundreds of faithful participated in the special prayer for Pope Francis’ healing. This communal moment emphasizes faith and the intercession of Our Lady for the Pope’s recovery.
