Priestly Ordinations in Mexico: January Highlights

In addition to the 38 new priests, 15 more priest ordinations are scheduled for February in various Mexican dioceses.

Mexico City (01/30/2025 16:55, Gaudium Press) On January 7, four Deacons were ordained priests in the Diocese of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. Another three Deacons received the Sacrament of Holy Orders on January 10 in the Diocese of Xochimilco, Mexico City. On January 13, nine Deacons were ordained priests in the Archdiocese of Xalapa, Veracruz.

Eight Ordination Ceremonies Held in January

On January 16, the Archdiocese of Morelia, Michoacán, ordained five new priests. A new priest from the Missionary Congregation of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus was ordained in the Diocese of Papantla, Veracruz, on January 18.

Since January 20, the Diocese of Querétaro has held several ordination ceremonies, resulting in the ordination of 11 new priests so far. On January 21, two twin brothers were ordained priests in the Diocese of Tuxpan, Veracruz. Three new priests were ordained on January 25 in the Diocese of Autlán, Jalisco.

Scheduled Priest Ordinations for February

In addition to the 38 new priests, there are 15 more ordinations planned for February across various Mexican dioceses. On February 1, a priest will be ordained in the Diocese of Saltillo, Coahuila. On February 11, three new priests will be ordained in the Diocese of Mazatlán, Sinaloa. Finally, on February 7, 11 new priests will be ordained in the Archdiocese of Puebla. (EPC)
